There are over 800 lots this month with our usual range of quality and obscurity.
The two top auction highlights this month undoubtedly go to Karuizawa with the appearance of the much sought after 1967 bottled in 2009 and the almost impossible to find 1964 48 year old bottled for Wealth Solutions in Poland. Both these remarkable single cask Karuizawas are now incredibly hard to find so this represents a great opportunity to acquire two of the most sought after bottlings from this distillery. Joining these are two of the 1964 miniatures of this whisky which also make a welcome return for this sale.
One of our favourite bottles this month however is the 12 year old Springbank UK market version of the famous Samaroli bottling, a bottle so rare few people even know it exists, this should be the same liquid as the great Samaroli version so this represents a real find for drinkers and collectors alike.
Elsewhere you’ll find the welcome return of a 1st release Port Ellen – these are getting quite scarce now and their appearance at auction is really starting to slow down. We have the 1972 Ardbeg single cask for Velier, another of the Remy Martin 250th anniversary editions, a 1969 25 year old Bowmore and the 1981 Sherry matured Talisker 20 year old. There is a 1965 Macallan Anniversary Malt, the 1975 Ardbeg cask 2751, two different Balvenie Vintage Casks and the extremely hard to find 35 year old Strathisla that was the first ever release from the now famous Queen Of The Moorlands series.
We have some excellent old Signatory releases including a 1965 Glen Mhor and 1969 Springbank, Bunnahabhain 1968 Auld Acquaintance makes a welcome return as does the 1971 34 year old Bowmore and there’s also a rarely seen 1965 Tomatin from the Lombard series. Elsewhere you’ll find 1956 Highland Park, Strathisla 35 year old Bicentenary, Longmorn 25 year old centenary and a very extensive selection of the Rare Malts series featuring many of the popular and harder to find expressions from this legendary range.
There is a Dailuaine 1962 40 year old from the early days of Douglas Laing’s Old & Rare series, a 1968 40 year old Bowmore from Duncan Taylor, a pair of excellent condition Kinclaiths from G&M and a very rare official single cask 1966 30 year old Old Fettercairn. We’ve got old Islay classics from Lagavulin and Ardbeg, many old official bottlings from the 1980s and 70s, old Connoisseur’s Choice expressions and a very extensive range of Flora & Fauna releases including everybody’s favourite – the Speyburn 12 year old.
In short this is another extensive, varied and fun sale filled with great bottles for drinking, collecting and just general curiosity pieces for the drinks cabinet or the shelf. Whatever your tastes you’ll find something within this month’s selection.
So good luck and happy bidding
